It was a dream come true to have a scene in Cameron Crowe’s award winning movie ALMOST FAMOUS. The way I got there was thanks to a great consolation prize. Pete wrote a song for the movie and we were asked to sing it in the movie! We sang the song one time, live on camera and it was a magical and calming moment.
What comes first, the music or the words? The answer is most definitely, the words. No, the music! Both at the same time? Really, it happens all these ways. This is the story of a song I co-wrote in 2002 with my partner, Pete Droge called, "Going Whichever Way the Wind Blows," it was featured in a Toyota Sequoia Commercial.
Around midnight, Pete and I walk into Harris Teeter, an upsale grocery store in the Atlanta area, when we suddenly froze in our tracks! A song is blasting over the PA in the near empty store, my song, from a record that isn’t even out yet, that we just finished recording on Vashon Island not a week earlier! What the hell?
Not many people can say they have a song in a Brian Bozworth movie. The movie is Stone Cold and it came out in 1991. It featured one of my previously unreleased tracks, "Fatal Kiss". If you’re one of those people who have come looking and have found this post, wondering if I’m that person who sang that song. Or if you want a Mp3, shoot me an email
